travelling on..

I absolutely love the feeling of getting on a plane, and going somewhere- be it a 1hour journey or a 10 hour one, or even 18 hours- the longer the flight, the more the food, at the cost of sleep, ofcourse.
I wait at Pearson for my flight to finally board, after an unexpected night of a cancelled flight and 3 movies and friends, and an expensive dinner- it only seems right to blog (since they have free wifi here, and its so cool to be seen working on a laptop).
We witnessed (my first) lunar eclipse on the way to the airport, truly wonderful.


Since I couldnt come up with anything right away, this seemed appropriate to post, something done a while ago, during those noisy summer nights in London.

In America, it is called eggplant, in England it is aubergines, and in India it is brinjal. I am confused.

Its a lot of fun observing how a newspaper soaks up a pool of black ink, and how the letters start glistening, black against black, the pictures slowly turning a glossy black themselves, with a vague hint of the colour they had, till the whole paper is wet with ink- a rich dark bluish black. You really want to know what it would look like dried up. So you decide to dry the paper, even though its a rainy day, but its soaking wet with ink, and now theres ink on the placemats, and on the floor, and you are tempted to take the wet newspaper and wipe the entire floor with it, to see what cool patterns might come out, and so you do. Then you walk all over it, and make inky footprints all over the house, then with those inky hands, take pictures of this amazing victory against the ink. The tiled floor is a mess, and so are you. The paper eventually dries up, its still black.

Unfortunately i have no such pictures. I wish i did.
The ink however, did spill.

Recently at the studio, I animated a heart breaking...rather, crumbling. As a break from work, its fun to go into photoshop and doodle away...




This one stemmed from my hands being way to shaky from coffee much too strong for me, and the current converse fad. Everyone has a pair! Not me though.. hoo haha

It started off as a doodle for eddie (who now has a blog!)

I am still trying to absorb London, exploring as much as I can. It is great to be in a new place- so much to do so much to see, I almost forget I am alone. Working at Trunk has been very enjoyable. A link to some happy times.
There is some definite home sickness, but that's always bound to be there. So all I can do is soak up this lovely city while I'm here!

Today I saw a woman with a cd player- seemed worth mentioning.

Also, its very amusing that there are models of elephants all over this place.

A long overdue post marking the end of third year! The most exhausting and interesting year so far. Our film turned out pretty good, surprised we ended up finishing! I absolutely loved animating the bird. A few snapshots from the bird walk.

I had no idea what to expect from a rave party, but it was definitely a very interesting experience. What stuck with me was the freedom with which the people danced- everyone's body moving to the music, but in completely different, uninhibited ways. The event truly did celebrate life.
